Lilla Kulka

Born 1946 in Cracow, Poland.

Lilla Kulka’s work draws upon the following fields: artistic weaving with sculpture elements, spatial arrangements, drawing, and painting. Since 1972 she participated in over 200 exhibitions in 15 countries of Europe, South and North America, and Asia.


Awards:
1975 Medal at the International Artistic Weaving Triennial in Łódź, Poland, Numerous awards and honorable mentions in the Cracow “Tapestry of the Year” competition
1978 Grand Prix, "Tapestry of the Year" competition, Cracow, Poland

Education and Teaching:
1966-1972 M.F.A. with Honors in Painting and Gobelin Tapestry, Department of Painting, Design, and Sculpture at the State College of Fine Arts in Poznań (PWSSP) in Poznan
1966 Studies in Industrial Design, Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Cracow
1981-Present Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Cracow. Currently the head of the Department of artistic weaving.
